Put On the New Ways of Christ
Paul doesn't just say "be righteous" and move on. He points us to a Person. The whole Christian life is learning to look more and more like Jesus—because Jesus didn't only come to forgive us; He came to show us what a human life fully surrendered to the Father actually looks like. So the qualities Paul lists next aren't just commands. They're invitations to become like Jesus, because He modeled every one of them perfectly.
Speak the truth in love. Jesus never traded truth for popularity, but He never used truth as a weapon either. To the woman caught in adultery He said, "Neither do I condemn you"—that's grace—and then, "Go and sin no more"—that's truth. He never chose one without the other.
